Author's debut novel “Pietinia kronikas” (a dialect version of the Southern Chronicles) is a monument for the last decade of the XXth century and his home town Šiauliai. The book is about Šiauliai and is written in the dialect of Šiauliai. It narrates about a young guy from the Southern town area in that wild period shortly after the restoration of independence. “Pietinia kronikas” is a kind of time machine without any ifs and buts plunging into a pretty close history – the end of the XXth century. The reader is immediately shifted to that time Šiauliai, sees the young music bands BIX and GIN’GAS, sweatsuits and a room with a Rembo poster on the wall, goes to Latvia with bags in his hands, plays rugby, falls in love and loses faith in love. And that’s not all. The reader not only sees and feels but also hears as the dialect of Šiauliai flows freely.
